Writing!

So yes, it seems that the spring semester is fast approaching. And, as usual, more stress for me = more story ideas appearing out of nowhere and refusing to leave until I do something about them (i.e. writing). Normally these ideas take the form of random Star Wars fanfictions, but suddenly, not so long ago, an idea for a (potentially) good original fantasy novel made its appearance. This is both a good thing and a bad thing. It's good because I'd like to actually write something original. It's bad because I want to do it well, so I know I'll probably wind up driving myself nuts in the process. Anyway, hopefully I'll get a start on this thing soon, and if y'all are interested in reading it I can post the chapters here as they come. Oh, and if it really sucks, please make sure I know that. Because see, along with the original idea has come the "Hey, let's try to get published!" bug. 90% of me has been trying to make said bug shut up, at least for now, but the 10% that likes what the bug is saying seems to be louder that that nice, rational, non-masochistic 90%. Save me from myself!

Amanda convinced me to join the NaNoWriMo bandwagon, so I now must write 50,000 words of a fresh story by the end of November. I'm thinking of re-starting the story I'd been writing about Carraroe...it was a good idea, and now that I've been twice there's lots of fresh material to work into it. Anyway, I must do some work and ponder my story...off for the night!
